Yoga for Infertility & Loss
“Yoga allows you to rediscover a sense of wholeness in your life, where you do not feel like you are constantly trying to fit broken pieces together.” ~ BKS Iyengar
The practice of yoga can serve as a bridge to begin the process of healing from infertility and loss. As we begin to peel back the layers of ourselves through asana, breath, meditation and the application of yogic philosophy, we can learn to embrace each part of ourselves, even the sorrow and grief.
Yoga, with its emphasis on each breath, on the gift of each moment, on the practice of letting go, on shifting our perspective, is gentle and soothing way to heal from loss.
The journey of infertility and loss can be lonely, isolating and extremely stressful. Gathering in the company of other women who have traveled a similar path offers support and love during these unbearably hard times.
“If we meet this world unprotected, our heart gets broken over and over and over. This is actually a gift.
You let the world touch you, it shatters you open, and it shatters you open, and it shatters you open.
And here you are, shining. After our heart is broken open a thousand times and all of the contents emptied out, there’s just this shining left.” ~Jeannie Debra Nickels-Zandi
We have two choices: to break down, or to break open. What will you chose?
